SATORYX is hand-altered garments.
The work is built through negative space, symmetry, and symbol. At a certain scale, a symbol stops feeling decorative and becomes part of the object.
The animal forms come from early systems of representation: the deer, for instance, is a forgotten companion of mankind; once a source of life, myth, and natural splendor, now often dismissed as a pest by the ‘civilized world.’
The work refers to an older relationship with material: repairing it when needed, letting use become part of its form; forests understood as living presences; a world not yet fully mapped or made harmless.
A portion of each purchase supports conservation and animal advocacy.
